Following the UC3 tender process, Relevent NewCo was awarded the commercial rights to the UEFA men’s club competitions (Champions League, Europa League and Conference League) on a global basis for the 2027 to 2033 cycle.
As such, Relevent NewCo is now seeking to build a truly world class business focused on the monetisation of these commercial rights.
Role Overview
Relevent NewCo’s Head of Commercial Affairs is a critical role in the media team, reporting directly to the Chief Media Officer. They will work closely with UC3 and Relevent NewCo’s media department to ensure that trusted and industry leading tender processes are delivered in every territory worldwide, leading to optimum commercial outcomes. They will partner closely with sales, strategy and legal teams to adapt processes and packaging to capitalise on market opportunities and dynamics, whilst ensuring that the highest possible standards are met in every territory to inspire trust and confidence from the market. They will deliver clear, consistent commercial recommendations to UC3 at every step of the media rights sales process.
The Head of Commercial Affairs will be instrumental in instilling a collaborative, dynamic and visionary culture in Relevent NewCo’s media team. They will be a motivational team leader, able to inspire high performance in team members. They will be an experienced, personable executive, able to quickly build trust and cross-functional relationships.
The Head of Commercial Affairs will possess extensive experience in sports media sales, enabling them to hit the ground running in role. They will have a passion for football and be driven to contribute to the growth of the UEFA Men’s Club Competitions.
The Head of Commercial Affairs will be based in Relevent NewCo’s London office.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibility for managing all global tender processes for the UEFA Men’s Club Competitions.
Proactively lead every stage of the media rights tender processes to ensure that the highest standards are consistently met in every territory.
Establishing a strong daily working relationship with UC3, addressing complex commercial issues and opportunities within tight timescales.
Working with UC3 and Relevent NewCo’s sales teams to ensure a positive position on financial security is reached on all UEFA Men’s Club Competition deals.
Managing commercial changes to existing media deals throughout the cycle.
Building and leading a lean, high performing team with a global remit.
Opportunity for direct sales responsibility in certain key markets.
Required Experience & Skills
7+ years of experience in sports media sales.
History of delivering the highest quality work - building deep and trusted relationships with key players in the sports media industry.
Proven ability to deliver clear, decisive recommendations on complex commercial issues to senior stakeholders.
Ability to build and deliver on innovative media rights strategies.
Exceptional communication and management skills with a clear focus on maintaining the highest industry standards.
Strong attention to detail, rigorous in approach and ability to problem solve complex issues.
Exceptional stakeholder management skills, comfortable building relationships with a broad international client base.
Strategic mindset and deep global knowledge of sports media trends, both established and emerging.
Analytical and numerate.
Professional services background in either Legal or Accountancy advantageous.
Fluency in multiple languages preferred.

George Williams - Managing Director, UK & Europe
George Williams joined TurnkeyZRG in 2023 to lead the organization’s international expansion into Europe. Based in London, he brings over 15 years of executive search experience across Sport & Media. George will also work closely with ZRG’s Sucherman division to support its ongoing growth in the region. Prior to joining TurnkeyZRG, George was a Partner at Savannah Group, where he led and grew the organization’s Sport & Media Practice across Europe. He previously served at Odgers Berndtson as an Associate, supporting the launch of their Sports Practice and leading the delivery of multiple assignments.
Rick Alessandri - Managing Director, Media & Sports Tech
Rick Alessandri joined TurnkeyZRG in 2018 to help launch and grow the company’s media and tech search practice. Mr. Alessandri's vast network and 30+ years of industry experience have led to placements of Monumental Sports & Entertainment’s Regional Sports Network’s General Manager and SVP, Digital Media, Regional Sports Network, DAZN’s Chief Communications Officer and Vice President, Media, Major League Rugby’s Commissioner and C360 Technologies’ CEO to name a few. Prior to joining TurnkeyZRG, Rick held senior level positions with Univision as EVP, Enterprise Development and ESPN as Chief of Staff to ESPN President George Bodenheimer, CXO of the X Games and SVP of ESPN Enterprises.
Henry McCreery - Senior Associate
Henry McCreery joined TurnkeyZRG in early 2025 as a Senior Associate, based in London. Specialising in the global search for C-Suite and Board-level executives for high-impact roles, Henry leverages an extensive network developed through a history of working with prominent teams, leagues, and national and international governing bodies in the sport, media, and entertainment industry. In his role, he leads the delivery and execution of search processes and supports TurnkeyZRG's rapidly growing practice in the EMEA region.
Prior to joining TurnkeyZRG, Henry served as a Research Analyst in the Global Sports, Media & Gaming Practice at Odgers Berndtson. He holds a BA Hons degree in History and Politics from Newcastle University.
Paddy Hickey - Senior Associate
Paddy Hickey joined TurnkeyZRG in 2024 as a Senior Associate. Based in London, Paddy will focus on leading and executing cross-functional executive search processes for a broad range of clients in European sport, media and entertainment. Prior to joining TurnkeyZRG, Paddy was an Associate at SRI.
Paddy has a track record of identifying and placing top talent on behalf of clients that include rights holders, governing bodies, international sporting federations, Premier League football clubs and Formula 1 teams. His experience encompasses a broad range of functions, having built expertise in commercial, finance, legal, technology, HR and sustainability assignments. Placed candidates include sport industry veterans and high-impact talent from adjacent sectors.
