Founded 50 years ago by Billie Jean King, on the principal of equal opportunity, the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) is the global leader in women’s sport.
The WTA is truly global, with over 50 annual events spanning all corners of the globe, its players represent over 80 different countries and its broadcast attracted an international audience of 1.1 billion viewers in 2024.
Over the course of its rich history, the WTA has been home to many of sport’s greatest icons including Billie Jean King, Martina Navratilova and Serena Williams. Its current stars who hold global appeal include Iga Swiatek, Coco Gauff and Ons Jabeur. WTA Ventures is the commercial arm of the WTA, created in March 2023 as part of the WTA’s strategic partnership with CVC Capital Partners. Position Summary:
The VP, Integrated Content will be a key member of the marketing and brand team, developing and implementing a comprehensive, cross-platform content strategy to drive growth and revenue. This role will oversee the development of high-quality content to deepen WTA brand affinity / fandom, manage the content and editorial teams, while fostering constant collaboration with social and comms teams, analyze content performance to gain insights and improve performance. Key to this role will be partnership with global broadcasters, as well as alignment with WTA Media and internal broadcast planning. This role will establish a strategic vision for WTA content, in order to drive revenue for the WTA, across all owned and operated, and third party platforms.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and manage a content strategy to drive brand awareness / fandom / revenue for the WTA, its tournaments and players.
Create an integrated approach to content, across all fan-facing platforms, to ensure coordinated storytelling narratives – aligning priorities into content pillars, choosing hero players and imagery, coordinating language, etc.
Establish platform-specific strategies for content production and distribution. Drive engagement with original production, long and short-form, highlights and clips, social-first outputs and more. Understand the key revenue drivers for each platform and ensure each product is versioned and maximized for the content platform.
Build plans and align with broadcast and third party media partners to produce / distribute content to drive WTA, player and tournament reach / viewership and revenue.
Create compelling content to lead storytelling for the “story of the season” i.e. swings, stakes, milestones, rankings, the “Race to the WTA Finals” etc.
Utilize data to lead actionable insights and optimizations, including performance analysis for editorial content and across content platforms. Identify challenges and opportunities for continuous growth and optimization, including competitive analysis within sports and media properties.
Manage all content strategies with a view towards revenue growth – both indirect via brand awareness and directly via sponsorship and media deals, advertising revenue, etc.
Lead a diverse, global team of editorial and content producers across multiple time zones and geographies. Empower teams and create accountability to foster critical cross-department collaboration.
Education and Experience:
15+ years’ experience in the sports / entertainment industry with demonstrated results setting holistic content strategies for sports & entertainment brands
Strong passion for and deep knowledge of live sports, entertainment and the larger media landscape and trends globally.
Knowledge on how digital platforms monetize and ideally experience navigating complex sports rights restrictions
Deep industry knowledge and the analytical expertise to plan for and measure success on all campaigns.
Proven ability to drive revenue, both directly and indirectly
Ability to work autonomously, make smart decisions and be seen as an expert in their field.
Demonstrated experience in managing complex cross-functional projects with diverse stakeholders, and juggling multiple competing priorities
Strong managerial experience across multiple time zones, full and part time staff, freelancers and consultants.

Travel Requirements:
Some travel to tournaments and meetings throughout the year.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Manages a team of editorial staff (6+ people)
Position Type/Work Schedule:
Full Time, 40 hours a week. Typical schedule will be Monday-Friday. Must be available for occasional evenings/weekends.

Allie Crone joined TurnkeyZRG in 2018 and currently serves as Vice President, leading the firm’s Marketing & Communications practice. While at TurnkeyZRG, Ms. Crone has led dozens of executive level searches including Chief Marketing Officer of the Kansas City Chiefs, San Francisco 49ers, Ilitch Holdings (Detroit Tigers & Red Wings), and Comcast Spectacor (Philadelphia Flyers), as well Chief Communications Officer for the US Olympic & Vice President of Communications for the Portland Trailblazers and Philadelphia Flyers. Within the Marketing function, she has also led searches in Live Entertainment & Game Presentation, Digital Marketing, Content and Social Media.
George Williams - Managing Director, UK & Europe
George Williams joined TurnkeyZRG in 2023 to lead the organization’s international expansion into Europe. Based in London, he brings over 15 years of executive search experience across Sport & Media. George will also work closely with ZRG’s Sucherman division to support its ongoing growth in the region. Prior to joining TurnkeyZRG, George was a Partner at Savannah Group, where he led and grew the organization’s Sport & Media Practice across Europe. He previously served at Odgers Berndtson as an Associate, supporting the launch of their Sports Practice and leading the delivery of multiple assignments.
